From hadith: Narrated Abu Huraira:
The Prophet said: "On every Friday the angels take
their position at each door of the mosques to write the names of the people in
chronological order (that is, according to the time of their arrival to the
Friday prayer) and when the imam is (in the pulpit) they fold to their
parchments and prepare to listen to the sermon. "
-Collected by Muhammad al-Bukhaari, Sahih al-Bukhari
Muslim ibn al-Hajjaj Nishapuri relates that the Prophet
Muhammad used to read Sura 87 (Al-Ala) and Sura 88, (Al-Ghashiya), in Eid
prayers, and also in the prayers of Friday. If one of the festivals fell on
Friday, the Prophet would have done, be sure to read these two suras in the
prayer.
A person who goes to Friday prayers and stays quite during
the sermon is said to have his sins among those who last Friday and forgiven.
Wajib salat
Wajib As-Salat is obligatory, the breach of what a sinner
does. However, the evidence of the obligation is open to interpretation, with
some of the madhab saying that it is mandatory, while others say it is
optional. To deny that a Fard salah is obligatory is an act of disbelief while
denying the obligation of a wajib salah is not disbelief. There are some who
believe that since the 5 sentences are mandatory, it automatically makes all
the other sentences optional.
