Yumu'ah (also borrowed Jum'ah; Arabic: صلاة الجمعة Salat al-'ǧum ah, "Friday prayer") is a communal prayer (salah) that Muslims have every Friday, shortly after noon, instead of Dhuhr. It is mentioned in the Qur'an as:
O you who believe! When the call is proclaimed to the Friday prayer (the day of the Assembly), speed up much to the memory of God, and leave the trade (and traffic): That is better for you If you knew!
And when the prayer is over, then you can scatter on the earth, and seek the favor of God, and celebrate the praises of God often (and without limit): so that you can prosper.
One-Koran, surah 62 (Al-Yumu'a), ayah 90-10
The Yumu'ah prayer is half of the Dhuhr prayer, for convenience, preceded by a sermon (a sermon as a replacement of technicians of the two raka 'reduced in the ordinary Dhuhr prayer), and followed by a communal prayer, directed by the magnet. In most cases khatib also serves as a magnet. Assistance is strictly for all adult men who are legal residents of the locality. Salat-ul-Juma'a with congretion is not mandatory for Muslim women.
The muezzin makes the call to prayer, called the adhan, usually 15-20 minutes before the beginning of Jum'ah. When the khatib takes its place in the minbar, a second adhan is made. The Khatib is supposed to offer two lectures, stop and sit briefly among them. In practice, the first speech is longer and contains most of the content. The second speech is very brief and concludes with a dua, after the muezzin calls the iqama. This marks the beginning of the main prayer rak'at two of communal prayer on Friday.

Community prayer has a greater fulfillment of the faithful, in comparison with non-collective ritual prayers. In Turkey, for example, ritual prayers are regularly held at 44%, while Friday prayers were regularly attended by 56% (25% responded that they sometimes attended and 19% did not).
