Most Sunni Muslims regard the Tarawih prayers as al-Sunna
mu'akkadah, a salat that was carried out by the Prophet Muhammad very
consistently. Sunni Muslims believe that it is a tarawih Sunnah salat and can
be performed at home if one is unable to attend a mosque. According to this
tradition, Muhammad initially prayed the tarawih in congregation during
Ramadan. He prayed in the congregation for three consecutive nights, but he
interrupted this practice for fear that it would be obligatory, instead of the
Sunnah. At the time when Umar ibn
al-Khattab was the caliph, he reestablished the Tarawih prayer in congregation
since the prophet Mohammed was no longer alive and, as such, there was no
longer any fear that it was obligatory.
Istisqa Salat ul istasqa (Arabic: صلاة الإستسقاء) is a
prayer consisting of two rakaah performed during the dry season to ask Allah to
rain. Salah = Prayer Rak'at = (One unit of the Muslim prayer cycle from the
standing position to the prostration, to the standing position) Sura = (a
chapter of the Qur'an) Jutbah = (Sermon)
The imam prays, with the followers, two rak'a at any time,
except those times when it is not convenient to pray. In the first rak'ah, the
Imam recites the surah Al-A'la after Sura Al-Fatiha. And in the second rak'a,
read Sura Al-Ghashiyah after Al-Fatiha, and deliver a sermon before or after
the Salat. As soon as the sermon ends, the people present their outer garments
in turn, each putting their left side on the right side and the right side on
the left, the qiblah, begging God and raising their hands while doing so. .
and send us abundant rain. "Ash-Shaf'i said:" I
prefer the Imam to beg with that (prayer). "
